Request a Verified Badge on Instagram

First and foremost, in order to have a verified badge on your Instagram profile and page, you must be a public figure, celebrity or brand, and meet certain account and eligibility requirements.

If you're a celebrity or brand and don't have a verified badge, it is time to get one on your account!

To request a verified badge...

  1. Make sure you're logged in to the account you're requesting a verified badge for.
  2. Go to your profile and tap the hamburger icon.
    1. Tap Settings > Request Verification.
  3. Enter your full name and provide the required form of identification (example: government issued photo ID).

Keep in mind, even if your account is eligible for verification, submitting a request doesn't guarantee that your account will be verified. Once Instagram reviews your request, you'll receive a notification letting you know if your account has been verified or not. If your request is denied, you can submit a new request after 30 days.

If you don't meet the requirements of a verified badge, or simply don't want one, there are other ways to let people know you're authentic! Try linking to your Instagram account from your official website, Facebook Page, YouTube or Twitter account. And be sure to have those links, your website, etc. in your Instagram profile.
